For reference:

The Programming in Scratch project is aimed at helping students develop logical and algorithmic thinking along with the skills necessary in the 21st century (basic programming, communication, and teamwork).

Two syllabuses were developed to teach students Scratch in Belarusian schools and learning centers – Creative Activity in Scratch (grades 2-4) and Computer Game Development in Scratch (grades 5-6).

In September-November 2017, about 300 primary school and informatics teachers joined the project.

5,000 students of grades 3-6 in all regions of Belarus are studying Scratch today.

During the autumn break, 116 teachers who have started teaching Scratch this year participated in training programs in Minsk, Mogilev, Novopolotsk, and Grodno.

13 schools in small Belarusian towns received 135 desk- and laptops to have an opportunity to conduct classes in Scratch.
